The Continental CrossContact LX 20 has been designed to provide All-Season traction, low noise, and a smooth responsive ride using an asymmetric tread pattern. Its notched outboard shoulder and circumferential rib pattern keep the vehicle in constant contact with the road to provide exceptional steering response, a stable ride feel and enhanced ride comfort on the road. The presence of siped central tread blocks and independent inboard shoulder blocks are able to enhance traction and improve breaking on wet, slushy or snow-covered roads. The sipes provide numerous biting edges that work towards confident handling in wintery or stormy weather. The tread pattern also ensures that water is evacuated from under the footprint for a sure-footed drive that resist’s hydroplaning.
While these are versatile all-season Crossover tires that handle a range of weather conditions and surfaces some tire sizes feature extremely wide tread widths and may limit the traction this type of tire can provide in deep snow.
